Ukrainian-German joint venture, “Schmeiser” released its first model of the less-lethal weapon, one based on military counterpart. Traumatic (less-lethal weapon with rubber bullets) version of the Makarov pistol (PM), produced us “PMSH-1.” Makarov pistol (PM) was developed by the Soviet designer Nikolai Fyodorovich Makarov in 1947-1948, and since 1951 had already been in service with many countries around the world. Because of the prevalence and recognition of the PM, very popular among the population of the former Soviet republics are not military version of the Makarov pistol, for example, pneumatic PM (MP654-K), gas, traumatic versions (PMR, PM-T, Berkut, GMP, PM-RF). In Russia, is quite popular with the possibility of a gas pistol firing a rubber bullet – “IZ-9-79 T (Makaritch).”<\/p>\n

The “PMSH-1” has a DA\/SA (double-action, single-action) operating system. After loading and charging the pistol by pulling back the slide, it can be carried with the hammer down and the safety engaged. To fire, the slide-mounted safety lever is pushed down to the “fire” position, after which the shooter squeezes the trigger to fire the gun. The action of squeezing the trigger for the first shot also cocks the hammer, an action requiring a long, strong squeeze of the trigger. The firing and cycling of the action re-cocks the hammer for subsequent shooting; fired single action with a short, light trigger squeeze. The PM’s operation is semi-automatic, firing as quickly as the shooter can squeeze the trigger. Spent cartridges are ejected to the shooter’s right and rear, some 18\u201320 feet away. When the safety is engaged,the hammer drops from the cocked position. The safety lever has a notch that blocks the hammer from striking the firing pin. This is the only safe way to lower the hammer. In the standard traumatic gun “PMSH-1” was discovered just two return springs, and they are different. The first has a length of 135 mm and the diameter of the “wire” 1.2 mm, the second longest 125 mm, diameter of the “wire” 1.45 mm.<\/p>\n

The actual inside diameter of the trunk test specimen “PMSH-1” is 6.0 mm, 6.2 mm on the passport. Muzzle of the barrel rolled up to 9 mm and has a thread that allows the sleeve to launch flares or a collar for firing gas and blanks. Bush is not included in the standard pistol. The inner surface of the barrel is not polished. The outer diameter of the barrel is 12.81 mm.<\/p>\n
